The use of improperly sanitized needles and instruments for invasive procedures on the human body and/or procedures being completed by inadequately trained individuals can contribute to the spread of communicable diseases and/or cause permanent injury.
The goal of this program is to ensure that businesses performing tattooing or body piercing procedures do so in a manner that meets safety and sanitation standards set forth in the Ohio Revised Code section 3730. This is accomplished through routine inspections that ensure compliance, encourage communication, and provide education for shop operators and their staff.
