World Hepatitis Day

Jul 30, 2024

World Hepatitis Day  was Sunday, July 28 – the World Hepatitis Alliance calls for urgent action as hepatitis now ranks as the world's deadliest virus after COVID-19, with 1.3 million lives lost each year and rising deaths according to WHO data. With over two million new cases annually and 300 million people living with hepatitis, it remains the leading cause of liver cancer.

As we approach the 2030 global goal for elimination, progress is stalling due to insufficient resource mobilization and ongoing stigma. The World Hepatitis Alliance offers their campaign materials to help raise awareness online and within networks.
